As my cousins have a dog, I took this as an opportunity to practice photographing pets, something I haven’t yet tried, only wild animals. I found it very challenging to start with to keep the dog still, so adjusted my settings to a faster shutter speed and asked my cousin to distract her with treats. This worked very well as I was able to capture her being really still as she waited patiently for her treat. I took some close-up shots of her face, somewhere only her nose is in focus, drawing the eye to this part of the picture. I also wanted to blur out the background to really make the dog stand out, so ensured I used a low f stop. We also went on a walk to the beach, where my cousins' dog loves playing around in the water, allowing me to capture an array of shots.
