STROBOSCOPIC PHOTOGRAPHY

Inspired by the talented Harold Edgerton, I researched into chronophotography, stroboscopic photography and multi-flash photography for my project about 'Another World'. These images create another worldly presence as there are multiple versions of my model surrounded by complete darkness, something that cannot be seen by the naked eye. To take the images, my model and I worked in a large dark room with a black background, using a strobe light, where I fired the flashes manually when my model completed different movements, with or without fabric, which froze the movement and layered my model, depending on how many times the light was fired.
